KEEP YOUR 911 ADDRESSES UP TO DATE

Versature's cloud-based business phone service offers a form of 9-1-1 service (9-1-1 Dialing) that is similar to traditional 9-1-1 service but has some significant differences and limitations when compared with enhanced 9-1-1 service (E911) available in most locations in conjunction with traditional telephone service.

TRADITIONAL 9-1-1 AND E911 VERSUS 9-1-1 DIALING 

With traditional 9-1-1 and E911 service, your call is sent directly to the nearest emergency response center. In addition, with the E911 service, your callback number and address are visible to the emergency response center call-taker.

With Versature’s 9-1-1 service, your call is sent to a national emergency call center. The call center operator will confirm your location information and then transfer your 9-1-1 call to the emergency response center closest to your location. It is extremely important to ensure you have entered the accurate locations for 9-1-1 emergency services purposes.

Moving your office?

Ensure you update your 9-1-1 data in this portal as one of your top priorities.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure 9-1-1 address(es) are up to date. Please ensure all of the data entered in the 911 Address section of SONAR for your physical location(s) is accurate, checked regularly, and updated as needed.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR 9-1-1 ADDRESS IN SONAR 

You must be an Office Manager to access Account Preferences. 

Learn how to access the Account Preferences section of SONAR.

  1. Click the 911 Addresses tab in the Account Preferences view. 
  2. Click the checkmark button on the left side of the address you want to change. 
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update Selected Addresses
  4. Enter the fields in the pop-up and click Save Changes
